As you guys know, I've been wearing Golden Goose sneakers for a long time now. It took me a while to make the initial purchase, but I immediately fell in love, and now I have numerous pairs. There is just something about them that I can't resist. A few years I started thinking about getting a pair of Gucci sneakers. I saw a few styles I liked, but since I had a pair of Golden Goose, I decided to think about it a little longer. It wasn't until recently that I found myself stopping to look at them every time I walked past a pair. Since I wear sneakers almost every day, I knew they would be worth it, so I finally decided to make the purchase, and I'm so happy I did!
However, as soon as I had both the Golden Goose sneakers and Gucci sneakers, the messages from you guys started flooding in! So many of you love both pairs, but only wanted to buy one (which I totally understand!), and needed my help determining which pair. I honestly had such a hard time deciding which pair I would pick. You might think Golden Goose since I have so many styles, but there is something about the Gucci that are so good.
COMPLIMENTS: I will say that anytime I wear my Golden Goose, I get compliments on them and it doesn't matter which pair I'm wearing. For my Gucci sneakers, I would say I get about half the amount of compliments. I think Gucci are a little more mainstream/trendy, while not as many people know about Golden Goose. So when they see a pair of Golden Goose sneakers, they really stand out (in a good way!)
I wear my golden goose way more, but I got the glittery Gucci sneakers last year and have only wore a few times! I love both and am glad I have both in my closet. However, if I had to chose just one I would say the golden goose for sure! I probably wear them 3 times a week
Hey there, i came across your website and love your style! I actually wanted to ask about the sizing. I am normally a size 8.5 and I have a pair of gucci snekaers in size 37.5 that fit me perfectly. I would love to get GG but so confused about the sizing. They say to go half a size up your normal sizing, which would make it a 9 based on my size, but you say to go down, what do you recommend to get So confused! lol Thanks in advance!
The Gucci fashion house was founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy in 1921. Since then, the brand has become a global symbol of style, luxury, quality craftsmanship and elegance. The classic aesthetic of Gucci has endured throughout time and continues to be highly sought after by fashion-savvy consumers around the world. Gucci shoes for women come in an array of styles including sandals, pumps, boots, wedges and sneakers. These shoes can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion and they come in a variety of materials such as leather, linen and velvet.
For a cool casual look, try styling a pair of Ace sneakers with cropped trousers or boyfriend jeans and a loose white t-shirt. Or why not add a touch of sophistication to mom jeans and a polo shirt combo by slipping into some mules You could even try styling Gucci loafers with an oversized sweater dress and opaque tights perfect for Sunday brunch with friends!
The trend of designer trainers and sneakers has been around forever but it has really caught the momentum in the last few years with all major fashion houses like Chanel, Gucci, and Valentino throwing their weight behind comfort shoes reimagined as luxury footwear. Mad as it sounds, the idea of selling casual footwear as a high-ticket item has turned out to be a true stroke of genius with consumer interest continuing to be nothing short of staggering.
Gucci Ace sneakers have been reviewed hundreds of times so in this post, instead of reheating the same points already covered by many other bloggers, I wanted to focus on the practicalities of owning a pair of Gucci Aces and the daily dilemmas that come with this. Aces are popular and cool looking, but they are a completely different breed to a standard pair of sneakers. Hence, in this review I would like to share my experiences with Gucci Ace sneakers, the truths about them, and what it has taught me about buying luxury casual footwear. Hopefully those of you thinking of spending a small fortune on the first pair may find it helpful.
The first and the most important thing to note when buying a pair of Gucci Ace sneakers is that they are not going to become a substitute for the true casual footwear. Trainers and sneakers are made for heavy usage, mucky tracks, long commutes on dirty and overcrowded public transport where strangers casually step on your toes. This is not the natural habitat for luxury casual shoes such as Aces. Beautiful crafted with intricate detail and finish, their purpose is to stand out and bedazzle rather serve a purely practical purpose and be, otherwise, invisible.
On top of that, the colour range (with white being the dominant colour) and decorative motifs make them unsuitable for anything more than a city walk in dry conditions. The truth is, by buying a pair of expensive sneakers like Gucci Aces you are choosing style over substance and investing in a piece of luxury disguised as a casual item even though, in reality, there nothing casual about them.
Honestly, is someone told me months ago that I would be spending a considerable amount of time tending to a pair of sneakers, I would laugh. Yet, ever since I got my Aces I have been finding myself doing just that, obsessively cleaning the sole and dedusting the uppers after each wear. On top of that, they always rest in a box filled with paper inserts to keep them in shape when not in use. Ashamed to admit, I have actually developed a small, after-use ritual to keep them in shape, something I have NEVER done with regular trainers!
There is no other way to say this, your Gucci Ace sneakers will end up being treated like the pampered pooches of your shoe collection. Fresh out of the box, they look nothing short of fabulous and this pristine look can only be preserved by keeping them clean and presentable. Forget about shoving them in the dusty corner of your wardrobe together with other trainers. They are more likely to have their own safe space where they can rest until it is time for them to come out and shine again. And of course, the white shoes require a considerable upkeep and the only way to preserve them is to wipe them clean after each wear to make sure that no spec of mud or dust rests on the rubber sole and no muck settles on the uppers. Sound like a lot of fuss, right Whether you want it or not, it is almost guaranteed that you will end up but treating your sneakers much better than any odd regular leisurewear, pampering and preening them to the extremes.
When I look at my shoe collection, it is quite apparent that the most comfortable and the most used pieces of casual footwear barely exceed 100 in value. I am talking here about the Sketchers, the gym trainers, the Converse sneakers. Really, to end up with very functional and comfortable shoes you do not have to spend an arm and a leg. So why would anyone in their right mind want to do it There is one thing to spend a lot of money on a pair of fabulous, designer stilettos but comfort footwear usually comes with a reasonable pricetag, right
I guess your sneakers should be even better protected from the rain thanks to the ticker sole. Congratulations on your purchase, by the way. They are absolutely gorgeous and sooo adorable! xx
The Gucci Ace sneakers come in a few renditions; I own the Gucci Ace Bee sneakers; there is also a version with pearls and studs on it, an Ace embroidered sneaker and a platform sneaker version. And, if you prefer more of a plain white sneaker, they have those too.
These sneakers are genuine leather and do have to be broken in a bit. I will be honest, they were a tad uncomfortable at first because the tongue is quite stiff. They had to be worn and broken in a bit.
However, I am so glad I did! Something I always take into account is cost per wear, and if you wear these sneakers 1/3 of the year (very possible for me), they break down to about $5 per wear. That, my friends, I can justify!
There is a funny misconception out there that some things are trendy only for a short amount of time. A pair of sneakers is certainly not a fad, as this is a shoe style that will always be in style. So I do believe them to still be a worthwhile investment for 2020 and beyond.
I think her (correct) point was that, when broken down to price per wear, these are so worth it. Compared to my more expensive and MUCH less worn designer heels, I actually wear these sneakers all the the time, and feel like I actually get my monies worth out of them.
Italian luxury brand Gucci has made another polarizing fashion decision after it stirred outrage over an $890 sweater that evoked \"blackface.\" Now, the high-end label is selling a pair of intentionally \"distressed\" leather tennis sneakers that look like they've been pre-owned, for $870.
\"Influenced by classic trainers from the '70s, the Screener sneakers--named for the defensive sports move--feature the Web stripe on the side and vintage Gucci logo, treated for an allover distressed effect,\" their description reads.
And $870 is just the starting price point for the men's and women's sneakers. A high-top version is available for $930, and men's and women's versions with \"a removable Art Deco GG crystal chain\" cost $1,590. The detail \"pushes the notion of bringing contrasting elements together in new ways,\" the product description reads. 59ce067264
