In the Shashthi-mangal section of the Mangal-Kavya, Shashthi helps a destitute woman who has been abandoned by her husband. Shashthi then takes the form of a young woman who enters the woman's house and begins to serve her various needs. She then reveals her true identity to the woman and transforms her into an old and rich woman. The woman then takes Shashthi in marriage and her husband grows jealous of Shashthi's beauty. The husband then steals Shashthi and takes her to a place where he intends to kill her. Shashthi, however, becomes angry and kills him. Afterwards, Shashthi returns to her mother. The mother is so happy to see her daughter that she forgives Shashthi for having murdered her husband. The mother then brings her daughter to the temple of Manasa, where Shashthi resides, and asks Manasa to take the form of Shashthi. Shashthi then gives the old mother a garland of colourful flowers and gold coins and asks her to keep them safely until her daughter becomes old and rich. It is then revealed that Shashthi was the girl who had been abandoned by her husband. The garland of flowers and coins thus represents the blessings of wealth and the flowers represent the bright and colourful future of the daughter-in-law, while the coins represent the wealth of the mother-in-law. The goddess Manasa then takes the form of the daughter-in-law and leaves the garland to the mother.[14][17]
Peer Group Questions – Think about the size of the private equity firm and the industry you are applying to. How did the firm decide to go with that size? Can you think of a situation where a firm would consider a different size? What kind of questions would you ask to determine whether a particular size or industry is right for you?
To decide which one should you opt for, one needs to look at the business as a whole. Doing so will give a better understanding of how the business functions, how profitable it is, how the management team is doing and what problems it might face in the future. It also helps to determine if there are any other reasons as to why you should or shouldn’t be interested in the company. Companies with a higher ROE are considered more attractive as well as have a higher Return on invested capital (ROIC). This helps determine if you need to invest in the company. 827ec27edc
